IUS PRIMI VIRI has a very wide scope of activity, both at the national and international level, which takes place in close cooperation with the main international organisms (i.e. United Nations, European Union, Council of Europe, UNESCO, OSCE) as shown, in particular, by the following initiatives:

Towards a physiological communication in the information society

· Seminars on “The scientific foundations of the universality of human rights” for Italian Finance Guards. (March, 2001 and April 2002) to introduce human rights in the training of the Italian Finnance Guards;

Summer School - Advanced Course for Educators and Trainers on Human Rights Education: Acquiring the Scientific Foundations of the Universality of Human Rights (Rome, July 9-13, 2001) This Course, which was completely renewed in order to focus on the scientific foundations of the universality of human rights, will be held again on July 2002.

- European Master in Humanitarian Aid – Noha - Academic year 2000-2001(Rome, University La Sapienza) on January 11, 2001, in the framework of the European master, a whole day was devoted to deepen the “Scientific Foundations of Human Rights” and “The Plurality of Cultures and Universality of Human Rights”.
Courses on Racism, xenophobia and intolerance. In the spring of 2002, as a followup of the Durban World Conference against racism where a delegation of IPV participated, the first course on this subject was held. The course was held again in autumn and is foreseen again in 2004.

Summer School - Advanced Course for Educators and Trainers on Human Rights Education: Acquiring the Scientific Foundations of the Universality of Human Rights (This Course, which was completely renewed in 2001 inorder to focus on the scientific foundations of the universality of human rights, will be held again on July 2004.

International Meeting: “ The sovereignty of Human Dignity in the European Convention of Human Rights” (Rome, Diplomatic Institute of the Foreign Affairs Ministry). This Meeting was organized by CEU and IPV in cooperation with the Italian Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Human Rights Internships for University students and international organizations.
An Handbook on Human Rights Education for the Police, prepared on request of the Italian Police Commissioner and printed by the Italian Ministry of Home Affairs;
Course of Human Rights Education for Police (Rome, Higher Institute for the Police, March 6-11, 2000). The Course, directed i with teachers belonging to IPV International Standing Committee, was held on request of the Italian Police Commissioner to train 25 trainers of Italian police Schools

Up-training Course for teachers and educators of the Ministry of Justice (Rome, 1998) in “Human Rights Education”
Seminar for diplomatic staff of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Rome, Diplomatic Institute, November 1997)
Project of “Human Rights Education” first and second year - 1996/1997) realized with the contribution of the European Union:
- Up-training courses for teachers, authorized by the Italian Ministry of Education;
- Advanced Postgraduate Course for Trainers on “Human Rights Education” co-organized and held together with the University Roma Tre of Rome;

1. Relationship between State and citizens;
