To transfer notions is not enough to educate. The individual must instead be able to discover and choose the universal values as leading principles of his/her life. This audiovisual was realized in the framework of the "First European Conference to launch the Decade on Human Rights Education" (December 3-4, 1993, Barberini Palace, Rome). The declarations of outstanding participants are put near the Declaration of intents for a Joint Strategy (promoted by Ius Primi Viri Association) and some articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (available in english and italian).

This audiovisual, realized in the framework of the U.N. Decade of Human Rights Education (1995 - 2004) is a synthesis of 3 videos ("Human Rights: relationship between the State and the citizen", "Racism, xenophobia, intolerance: education in the respect of diversity", Human Rights: from legality to justice") produced by C.E.U. with the support of the European Union, United Nations, UNHCR and UNESCO. Profs Luciana Luisa Papeschi, authors and promoters of this project, lead the viewer through a series of considerations and analyses to the discovery and awareness of the values sanctioned by Human Rights and included in democratic Constitutions (available in english, french and italian).
